9:00am Welcome and Intentions

To thoughtfully open the Summit, participants are invited to contribute to a collective visual representation of our intentions and commitment for our time together during for PLAYING with Possibilities. Foundational to many religious, cultural, and spiritual practices, offerings or altars can be tools used to create sacred spaces of growth, intention and contemplation. Bring an item to place on the altar that speaks to that which you hope to bring, or spend some time observing and absorbing what others are bringing into our shared space. Any items placed on the altar can be picked up at the conclusion of our program. Presented by Sarah Gonzalez and Vikó Velázquez

This workshop invites you to challenge old ways of thinking and reassess what is actually required for you to embody pleasure-powered leadership. Facilitators Stephanie Noriega and Desiree Hammond have curated a space to reconnect with who you are and what you value through creative rest, pleasure, and play. This playshop includes “pleasure portal” stations that participants can explore at their own pace and will conclude with a collective reflection. We invite you to let your curiosity and longing lead you into this workshop; lean into possibility today. • Dagoberto (Dago) Bailon

Dagoberto is both sexually queer and gender-queer, and knows the power of transformation and change. He recognizes this in his immigration to the U.S. at a young age; going from a small town with roughly 500 people to a big city that was loud at all hours of the night. Dagoberto also recognizes the power of transformation when he uses his drag persona to organize communities through culture, such as when he organized against the passing of AZ prop 300 which barred undocumented students from educational opportunities. He started organizing with the Arizona Queer Undocumented Immigrant Project, and through collaboration with the Arcoiris Liberation Team Dago and the other organizers realized they could more effectively organize if they joined. He helped guide the two organizations through a 2015 member summit in 2015 where the organizations’ memberships joined to create Trans Queer Pueblo. Dagoberto not only believes that radical transformation is good for us as people, and is necessary to continue to grow. When we learn how to organize for our own needs and recognize ourselves, we can better understand the needs of others.

I believe in the power of community, movement building and liberated relationships. I believe in humanity. I believe in justice and that justice is deeply personal. I believe in healing & restoration. I believe in the natural world and as an indigenous person, I am committed to restoring that balance.
