We are a collective of diverse consultants committed to centering equity and justice in our work.

Our Story

KAC began in 2017 with a small group of consultants that came together to support one another on their consultant journey. The initial purpose was to convene consultants with a shared equity vision. Over the years, the focus has expanded to include capacity building, professional development, and institutional organizing. With continued support from various institutions, KAC has grown into a community of practice with consultants who are committed to building systems that do not perpetuate structural oppression.

In 2020, KAC began to develop a justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) framework that will influence how the group engages internally and within the social and philanthropic sector. The framework is based on the Awake to Woke to Work model developed by Equity in the Center, and outlines the process for membership expansion, professional development, training, and applied practice. In addition to adopting a JEDI framework, the group is committed to upholding shared leadership.

Our Ways of Being

  • We actively practice growth and reflection in our work to heal and prevent traumas caused by white supremacy culture.

  • We strive towards liberation and justice for ourselves and in our work.

  • We cultivate spaces where people are more than their title, skills, work, and network.

  • W embrace an abundance mindset knowing there is enough for all of us to thrive, and transformative change is possible.

  • We create space for our trauma to be healed, channeled, and transformed.
